A long-dormant Bitcoin (BTC) holding is coming alive, transferring substantial funds after more than a decade of inactivity.
The movement involves 600 BTC valued at approximately $51.90 million at the time of the transfer.
These coins originated from a transaction first received on July 14th, 2012, and remained untouched for 14.2 years until they were moved in block 968116.
The transaction occurred at 07:22 UTC on September 22nd, 2026, from the address 1K6vURxUuK6uUCeXxk31PCyDahAu1raunh.
Galaxy Research highlighted the event on X, noting the realized profit and loss.
“Realized PnL: +$48.71M (+1,063,304% gain) – basis ~$8 avg – held 14.2y.”
This single awakening underscores the ongoing activity in ancient wallets.
The move comes as crypto research firm Glassnode says Bitcoin is showing a bullish on-chain signal.
“BTC has flashed the momentum signal that started the last two bull markets. The MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value) has crossed back above its 365-day average. This is the same cross that we saw in 2019 and 2023 at the beginning of each bull market.”
Meanwhile, crypto strategist Killa tells his 232,100 followers on X that he sees Bitcoin hitting as high as $90,000 before a pullback.
“I am looking at the $88–$90K region as an important LTF area from the December range. I would not be surprised to see a flush into the low $80ks first, before we push into the low $90ks and begin trading beneath the December 2026 range highs.”
