How Bolts Rewards Works
Fans earn points for attending games, making purchases and supporting the team, and the points can be redeemed for tickets, merchandise, collectibles and unique experiences.
The team says that, enabled by Avalanche, fans receive points instantly and can redeem them for merchandise, memorabilia, tickets and exclusive Lightning experiences.
When a fan links an existing debit or credit card, Uptop automatically recognizes qualifying purchases at participating merchants and adds points to the fan’s balance nearly instantly.
The program is available at BoltsRewards.com and in the Tampa Bay Lightning mobile app.
Uptop, Rain and Avalanche
Uptop is an onchain rewards platform built on Avalanche that turns everyday card purchases into loyalty points.
It was founded in 2022 and acquired by Rain in November 2025.
Rain is a global enterprise infrastructure provider for stablecoin-powered payments.
Uptop’s earlier clients are mostly in basketball and college sports.
It has powered rewards programs for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons and LSU Athletics.
Crypto Briefing reported that the Cavaliers’ Cavs Rewards program lifted spending at participating partners by 21% and online shop sales by 51%.
Those results come from a different team and may not carry over to the Lightning.
Uptop uses blockchain technology to issue digital badges and non-fungible tokens.
The Bolts Rewards announcement does not describe any token or NFT component for Lightning fans, and it does not give financial terms or details on $AVAX usage.
The Lightning launch adds an NHL team to Uptop’s sports roster on Avalanche. The wider test is whether fans engage with the program over a full season.
