One of crypto’s longest-running firms is preparing a major public debut with a substantial initial public offering (IPO).
Blockchain.com Group Holdings Inc. is telling prospective investors it wants to go public this year, Bloomberg reports.
The company is seeking to raise about $500 million in an initial public offering, according to people familiar with the matter. Blockchain.com is targeting a $4 billion to $6 billion valuation in the listing and would consider a smaller raise if needed.
Talks are ongoing and subject to change. The plans remain non-public and are based on discussions with potential investors.
Blockchain.com declined to comment on the matter.
Founded in 2011 by three members of the first Bitcoin (BTC) online forum, BitcoinTalk.org, Blockchain.com operates as an exchange and wallet provider.
The move comes as the crypto market begins to rebound after a prolonged downturn.
Blockchain.com has operated in the green for the past three years, according to the unnamed sources.
Multiple crypto companies including exchange Gemini Space Station Inc. and platform Etoro Group Ltd. went public in 2025. But as the value of Bitcoin and other digital assets began to decline last year, the interest for crypto companies to go public waned. Since going public, Gemini’s shares are down more than 80% and Etoro shares are down about 50%.
