The zkSync team fixed a minor network bug that delayed in-chain recordings by up to four hours. The team says that zkSync is now healthy and functioning correctly as expected.
zkSync Era, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution and privacy engine that launched its alpha mainnet in March, has revealed that it has fixed a bug on its platform that was negatively impacting on-chain withdrawal processing times.
According to a network update released by the team in the early hours of May 2, the watchkeeping team received a notification that the zkSync protocol was not generating proofs for some transactions. It immediately identified the bug and fixed it.
The team claims that the network is now healthy and working great again. However, for the sake of transparency, it will release a post-mortem of the incident with more details.
Network Update: Last night our on-call team was warned that the protocol was not generating proofs for the blocks produced for a specific batch. We immediately found the cause and solved the problem. The system is now healthy and working 100% as expected.

It is recalled that the zkSync Era protocol recently experienced block generation issues, although the team was able to fix the bug.

zkSync is gaining acceptance
Despite only being in alpha stage, the zkSync Era protocol, designed to ease congestion on Ethereum while improving transaction throughput, has seen no shortage of adopters.
Last week, iZUMi Finance, a liquidity-as-a-service focused protocol, revealed it had raised $22 million to launch and deploy a new decentralized exchange (DEX) called iZiSwap Pro on zkSync Era.
According to data on the Layer-2 tracking platform, L2Beat, 22 Layer-2 scaling protocols now exist, with a combined TVL (Total Value Locked) of $9.10 billion. zkSync Era ranks fourth on that list, with a TVL of $253 million. In the past 30 days alone, zkSync Era has enabled 9.28 million transactions.
