- The Zeitgeist-Polkasassembly integration improves Polkadot’s governance, allowing users to predict decisions and achieve financial gains, encouraging community participation and engagement.
- Participating in Polkadot decisions becomes exciting with Zeitgeist, where by predicting outcomes, users receive direct financial incentives, maximizing community interaction.
Zeitgeist, Polkadot’s prediction marketplace, has announced an integration with Polkaassembly. This initiative aims to transform decentralized governance by allowing users to take advantage of Polkadot’s governance decisions through Zeitgeist’s prediction marketplace to accurately predict their outcomes.
how does the Integration work?
This union will expand the incentive to participate in and oversee governance decisions in Polkadot. This push aims to encourage greater decentralized intervention by token holders, achieving more intense community participation.
It also introduces an element of excitement into the decision-making results, giving Zeitgeist users a direct financial incentive to stay informed about the activities on Polkadot.
Transforming the Zeitgeist for Polkadot Governance
Zeitgeist offers numerous predictive markets ranging from blockchain exploitation to sporting event outcomes. The current options include the likelihood of Tyson Fury defeating Oleksandr Usyk in their scheduled showdown on February 17, the eventual Blast Bridge exploit and the possibility of SBF being sentenced to 50 years or more.
Now, management decisions at Polkadot can also be subject to the predictive markets treatment. Governance-related markets are now available on Zeitgeist.
One of them wonders whether Referendum 385, a community marketing campaign for memecoins, will be approved and, if so, whether proponents will keep the promises made in the proposal. So far, this market has recorded a volume of 3.35K in DOT.
An additional board market currently active questions whether Lunar Agency will comply with Proposition 385 Unpleasant $DED promotion. According to the suggestion of Polkadot activist Giotto De Filippi:
“The implied probability suggests that enforcement is very likely, 90%. To those who question Lunar, I invite you to bet against it and take victory.
Gamifying vote-by-vote governance
In any blockchain environment, governance decisions generate both winners and losers. While some proposals pass unopposed, others are highly controversial. Thanks to Zeitgeist, there are more members the Polkadot Community can indirectly participate in the board because a financial interest is at stake.
Logan Saether, CEO of Zeitgeist, explains:
“The integration provides easy access to ongoing referendums, with an additional function to make predictions about the outcome of the proposal. We aim for the majority of these markets to be DOT-denominated, making it easier for the Polkadot community to participate.”
The integration of Zeitgeist’s prediction markets into the Polkasassembly user interface will allow users of the Polkadot OpenGov system to use their expertise to make predictions and get rewarded every time they get the correct outcome. The Zeitgeist and Polkasassembly teams are in the final stages of the integration, anticipating its early completion and ushering in a new phase for Polkadot’s governance.
