Warner Bros. has confirmed that DC Comics’ new superhero movie “The Flash” will be available for purchase through an NFT on the same day the movie releases on traditional digital platforms.
“The Flash” Web3 Movie Experience will be available for purchase on July 18 via blockchain service Eluvio use credit card or cryptocurrency. Owners can watch the movie in 4K Ultra HD resolution, access special features, collect artwork and unlock augmented reality (AR) collectibles.
According to Warner, the app’s digital content is also hosted on the Eluvio blockchain, not just the NFT access token itself. There are two NFT options available to fans, and each purchase comes with a randomly selected character-based key art, each with its own rarity level.

The NFT will feature one of two moving artworks (featuring The Flash, Supergirl, and Batman together, or Dark Flash) in addition to all four explorable dynamic menu interfaces. The Premium edition also offers exclusive special features.
Owners of “The Flash” Web3 Movie Experience will also receive a voucher that can be redeemed to claim a DC3 Super Power Pack NFT from DC NFT marketplace. Each Super Power Pack contains a randomly selected trio of digital comics, with rarity levels ranging from Common to Legendary.
“The Flash,” which was released in theaters last month, sees the titular speedster use his powers to go back in time to try and avoid a personal tragedy, only to inadvertently change history completely. It took just over $261 million at the box office, against a reported production budget of $200 million and a marketing spend of $65 million.
Warner Bros releases Ethereum compatible ‘Lord of the Rings’ NFTs
The release of “The Flash” Web3 Movie Experience is the third WB Movieverse NFT release after “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition)” last October and the 1978 “Supermanmovie in June. Owners of those NFTs also have early access to the “Flash” NFT sale DC Bat hood and DC3 NFT holders.
Fans will be able to resell their “Flash” NFT through a community marketplace beginning August 1. Warner Bros. and Eluvio call this the first time a major studio film has been released through NFT while landing on traditional digital platforms.
“This is an opportunity for DC fans to own a piece of movie history,” Eluvio co-founder and CEO Michelle Munson said in a press release.
