A prominent crypto lawyer who helped Ripple Labs and XRP in the case against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is volunteering to represent US token holders at an upcoming congressional hearing.
In response to an announcement from the Financial Services GOP about the upcoming hearing on capital markets and digital assets, financial technology and inclusion, crypto attorney John Deaton said volunteers his services to US token holders, saying he could testify on their behalf and represent their interests.
According to Deaton, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler does not have the best interests of retail investors at heart, while the Biden administration, along with Senator Elizabeth Warren – who has drafted legislation seen as anti-crypto – is actively harming the crypto community.
“If you want someone to testify who actually represents the interests of token holders – not crypto companies – and who took over the SEC and helped expose how much Gary Gensler is NOT protecting investors – I offer my services.
I represented 75,000 , the company that was approved by the SEC to go public and then sued two years later because its entire business model is illegal.
If you want the American public to know what Gary Gensler and the Biden/Warren administration are doing to harm everyday Americans, let me know.”
XRP is trading at $0.585 at the time of writing, up 1.74% over the past 24 hours.
