Legendary music festival Woodstock is entering the Metaverse through blockchain production company Sequin AR. The partnership gives global music fans a place to come together and discover Woodstock World. The goal is to make new and starting artists findable through this platform! Read on to learn more about Woodstock in the metaverse.
What brings Woodstock World to the Metaverse?
The Woodstock World festival continues the iconic debut roots of the original 1969 event while building a first-class metaverse experience. The metaverse includes various features and interesting activities for fans and artists alike to enjoy. True to the original festival, Woodstock World will feature archival 2D footage in addition to motion capture reproductions. These allow fans to interact with their favorite songs and artists throughout history in real time and in completely new ways. In addition, the metafestival wants fans to relive classic moments and historical performances from 1969.
In addition, this experience is based on Unreal Engine 5, today’s very latest real-time 3D modeling tool. Woodstock World will also introduce avatars, analytics, and video streams and use its primary Sequin metaverse platform in new ways. Experiences such as behind-the-scenes content, interactive archives, and even immersive visits to historic performances from past Woodstock festivals.
“Woodstock was and still is about people, from all aspects of life coming together for an experience that unites them. The metaverse offers people around the world, of all ages, a way to meet other people who love the same things as they do… and you don’t need an expensive plane ticket or a time machine, just the device you use every day.” says Robert DeFranco, CEO of Sequin AR.
