TL; DR
-
Sui just announced its plans to create a Web3-integrated handheld gaming device called the ‘SuiPlay0X1’ that will be released in 2025 for ~$500.
Full story
Sui just went ‘full Solana’ and announced plans to create a physical device.
But it’s not a phone!
It’s a portable gaming device, called the ‘SuiPlay0X1’, and it looks to rival the Steam deck.
This is all we have now:
The formula for the SuiPlay0X1 to win in the short term is simple:
It just needs to tell enough story around the device that is ‘the dawn of’ Real AAA Web3 gaming” and indicates that developer buyers will get a bunch of crypto as an incentive to play their games.
For the SuiPlay0X1 to Real win, besides Web3, it should be:
Same if not better than the SteamDeck, which is pretty much a PS4 Pro that fits in your pocket.
Because then the decision in the minds of the consumer becomes this…
“Right, so there’s the SteamDeck, and then there’s the SuiPlay0X1…
Both have similar specs, features, price points and give me access to my existing game libraries…
But developers building on SuiPlay0X1 might send me free crypto/NFTs, while Steam developers won’t…
Might as well go with the SuiPlay0X1 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”
If/when it’s released, we’ll buy one on the company card (for ‘research’).
