Full story
It’s been a minute since we dug this one up, but we’ve been whining about it all along:
To achieve mass adoption, Web3 needs to become invisible.
The idea is that people don’t need to know How blockchain technology works, they just need to understand its benefits.
Today we have good news: that ‘invisibility’ (fake word, staying with it) is well on its way.
web3 infrastructure company, cross minthas just rolled out a new NFT wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) product.
The product allows companies to create smart contracts and send NFTs via email, and let them automatically generate wallets to store NFTs.
Crossmint provides companies with an API (code they can plug into their existing platform) that allows their existing users to suddenly connect their wallets or create new wallets without the confusing “remember this random collection of 12 words” seed phrase.
Users can buy and sell NFTs using fiat currency (e.g. USD), making the process easier than ever for companies to offer NFTs.
Sounds cool, but has it been tested?
Again good news! Crossmint’s service has been used by companies such as Red Bull, airBaltic, ASUS and alcohol giant Diageo in recent months and is now being rolled out to the public.
Crossmint’s CEO put it perfectly when he said:
“This product provides all the power of Web3, but removes all the complexity by completely abstracting the blockchain from users.”
We’d love to see it!
