TL;DR
-
Doodles just launched a new feature, which allows users to dress their Doodles NFT avatars in different jackets, pants, and shoes (allowing them to create their own avatars).
-
That’s a cool feature! But what is it all for? So you can have an avatar that stands out in the metaverse?
-
The metaverse isn’t really a thing yet… so this feels like a solution to a nonexistent problem.
-
Here’s what we realized: technology has always been faster than human nature (it takes us a minute to get used to things and integrate them into our lives).
-
Getting solutions to tomorrow’s problems today may seem stupid at first… but that’s okay! It will make sense over time.

This is how we mediated our internal discourse…
When the internet first entered our homes, similar questions may have been asked:
Why should I use email? I know (maybe) one or two people using it. I’ll just keep going to the post office, thank you very much.
Apply that to this situation and you get something like:
Why should I update my metaverse avatar? I know (maybe) one or two people using it. I just keep going to Instagram, thank you so much.
The takeaway?
Technology has always outpaced human nature (it takes us a minute to get used to things and incorporate them into our lives).
Getting solutions to tomorrow’s problems today may seem stupid at first…
But that’s okay! It will make sense over time.
