Decentralized Communication Protocol WalletConnect starts at the next phase of its growth with smart sessions, a new standard that will “re-define” the UX wallet for the AI-driven future of the internet.
In a new blog post, founder of WalletConnect Foundation Pedro Gomes outlined his vision for a “seamless, intelligent Onchain world” driven by AI agents who communicate through smart sessions.
“Smart sessions are not only a UX upgrade,” Gomes wrote and explained that “they” reform the economic dynamics of WalletConnect fundamental. ” Instead of ‘endless wallet pop -Ups’, Smart Sessions users simply connect once, so that clear rules are set for wallet Interactions in natural language and delegating permission to an app – “or, increasingly, to an AI agent to handle them,” said Gomes.
WalletConnect claims to make more than 300 million “seamless, secure connections” possible for more than 45 million users worldwide, making an ecosystem of 700 portfolios and 63,000 apps. AI agents will feed the explosive growth in the ecosystem, including automated trade strategies, autonomous Onchain games, subscription payments and real-time asset management.
AI agents, Gomes wrote, in this model ‘First-class Burgers’ will be the work within clearly defined parameters set by the user with the help of smart sessions.
With the help of smart sessions, AI agents will also generate new flows of Onchain activity, which makes the road clear for a greater use for WCT -Toking of WalletConnect. Already used for setting out and governance on the network, WCT will be used to pay transaction costs – those scales as more AI agents come online. “The more autonomous agents travel transactions, the greater the expected question” for the WCT, Gomes explained.
A bite of the apple
The crypto ecosystem has been set to receive a large boost from recent changes to Apple’s App Store policy, after the EU has ordered the multinational electronics giant to open its App Store to external payment providers. A new account that passes the American congress would make comparable requirements to Apple.
Opening Apple’s App Store offers Web3 apps and portfolios “More freedom to guide users to decentralized payment options, external portfolios and onchain transactions,” wrote Gomes-Die Mobile-first crypto experiences to “scale to their full potential”.
The smart sessions of WalletConnect will form a “critical” part of this infrastructure if they evolve into “automated onchain actions,” said Gomes -promoting “seamless, trusted interactions” between users, decentralized apps and AI agents.
Spend against Decrypt Earlier this year, Gomes outlined his long -term vision for smart sessions and explained that they “will not only change how portfolios work, but how we deal with Dapps.” In the end, he said, Crypto portfolios that use WalletConnect’s infrastructure will have a “persistent connection that protects you against any malignant activity, and it just happens magically in the background.”
