inDAO, a specialized organization focused on integrating blockchain technology into everyday life, and Verida, a provider of self-sovereign digital identity solutions, have formed a partnership with the aim of promoting the widespread adoption of Web3 in Uzbekistan.
The partnership includes the implementation of pilot projects and collaboration with government stakeholders. The goal is to build both technological and business consensus, ultimately delivering a cost-effective and efficient digital infrastructure for Uzbekistan, according to a press release shared with Cryptonews.com on Thursday.
This collaboration also aims to address user privacy and digital security in sectors such as healthcare, education and real estate.
Verida and inDAO will work directly with the Uzbek government’s Digital Economy Research Center to demonstrate the potential of this Web3 technology as a crucial part of Uzbekistan’s digital strategy, the release said.
Over the course of 2023 and 2024, the companies will jointly undertake pilot programs to illustrate how inDAO’s blockchain technology, together with Verida’s self-sovereign Web3 wallet and regulatory compliant data storage, can empower citizens by giving them control about their digital presence.
“We are excited to collaborate with inDAO to explore how emerging blockchain, web3 and self-sovereign identity technologies can make an impact across multiple sectors of Uzbekistan,” said a government representative from the Digital Economy Research Center in Uzbekistan. “We will jointly build proof-of-concepts in key focus areas in the coming months, working closely with stakeholders across multiple government departments and industry leaders.”
A customized edition of the Verida wallet will be created to meet the needs of the citizens of Uzbekistan. Debuting in 2024, this custom wallet will connect to the inDAO blockchain and run on Polygon Supernets.
At the same time, Verida’s self-sovereign database network will “ensure the security of user data, healthcare data and other private information that should not be stored on a public blockchain,” the release said.
“The Verida technology allows us to quickly test and deploy these exciting new business models in Uzbekistan,” said Aziz Kamilov, co-founder of inDAO. “The Verida Wallet provides a perfect interface for citizens to interact with this new world, while the Verida storage network ensures that user data is protected in accordance with local regulatory requirements.”
Initial pilots will focus on working with local universities to implement zero-knowledge credentials, allowing students to verify their qualifications with potential employers. Subsequent initiatives have included pilot projects in three hospitals, giving users the power to securely control and manage their health records.
