‘Shark Tank’ Pitchathon Track Winner: PropelPixel, the brains behind an eco-friendly travel solution that encourages ride sharing and sustainable travel through a custom metaverse environment powered by NFTs.
These visionary projects collectively earned a share of $46,000 in prize money, with additional funding opportunities announced during the event.
Movelo, built on VechainThor, Vechain’s sustainable public network, uses blockchain to verify distances covered by walking or cycling, calculates carbon offsets and rewards individuals directly based on carbon emissions saved. It gamifies the experience with NFTs and leaderboards, offering companies a new way to drive sustainable travel options for their employees.
FiTag, the winner in BCG’s trajectory, is a luxury fashion tracking app that ensures transparency of the brand’s supply chain through Vechain’s blockchain. By using NFC tags, FiTag provides transparency from purchasing to sales, complies with sustainability regulations and promotes a circular economy through a rental model. NFTs guarantee product authenticity and digital ownership.
Sunny Lu, CEO of Vechain, highlighted the role of Web3 technologies in sustainable development. He noted that developers are creating sustainable dApp ecosystems, using tokenization and gamification to drive positive change.
The Pitchathon category winner, PropelPixel, provides a platform where users share eco-friendly travel experiences and earn tokens and NFTs for documenting their travels. It redefines carpooling, ride sharing and public transportation with a secure experience sharing platform.
A panel of industry experts reviewed the projects and assessed their ability to address sustainability applications, specifically ‘X’-to-Earn sustainability solutions.
