The Blockchain Center of the University of Zurich has entered into an academic partnership with Meta Pool DAO. Under this new academic alliance, students from several Latin American countries will be able to study at the Blockchain Center of the University of Zurich.
Both organizations have made history as this is the first time the academic institution has partnered with a decentralized autonomous organization. The initiative will enable knowledge exchange between the leading international blockchain protocols and Latin American students. The partnership reflects the fundamental principles of a DAO, namely transparency, participation and social responsibility, pillars that have guided Meta Pool from the beginning.
Founded in Latin America, Meta Pool is the first liquid staking solution on the NEAR Protocol and Aurora (EVM) and a multi-blockchain platform supporting Ethereum, Internet Computer Protocol, Solana and Q Blockchain. The total locked value is approximately 21.95 million delegated NEAR tokens (153.5 million USD). It has backing from leading crypto funds such as Dragonfly, A&T Capital, Lyrik Ventures, IOSG Ventures, Aquarius Capital, Big Brain Holdings, DARMA Capital, Curiosity Capital, Sky Vision Capital, D1 Ventures and angels.
“We believe that frontier markets are where mass adoption of blockchain will begin, and empowering scientists through the Summer School program at the University of Zurich is the best way to bring education to our region through an immersive program,” says Claudio Cossio, co-founder of Metapool DAO.
Transparency is essential and is reflected in open communication about operations, finances and governance, with every step shared with the community. Participation and empowerment are critical to promoting community inclusion in decision-making and ensuring that everyone has a voice and stake in the organization’s success.
