The founder and CEO of stablecoin company Tether (USDT) says whoever wins in the upcoming US presidential election should support the growth of crypto.
In an interview, Paolo Ardoino says that while the US has always been the prominent pack leader in the world, this is not the case when it comes to crypto.
“The US has always led technological development in every field and I think this is the first time in history that I see the US dropping the ball.”
Ardoino says one of the issues he hopes the next US president will tackle is crypto regulation.
“Whoever wins the election, I think it’s very important that crypto regulation – sensible crypto regulation and stable coin regulation – will flourish in a way that will protect the end users and also help this incredible technology flourish and become a will become a very important technology. lifeline for hundreds of millions of people who do not have the same opportunities as people in the US and Europe.”
He says US crypto regulations will have a significant impact globally.
“The US is of great importance in this dialogue. Everyone, every regulator in the world will look to the US for…regulation. So I hope that will happen soon.”
