Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already won a pair of Super Bowl championships (and MVP awards) during his six NFL seasons, and was one of the first athletes to make a major NFT splash in 2021. Now he’s diving in again with his own Museum of Mahomes NFT platform, extending the branding of its previous drop.
Museum of Mahomes will launch its first collectibles in September and will offer digital collectibles as NFTs, some of which will be linked to real-world benefits such as game-worn items, physical trading cards, autographed jerseys and footballs, and more.
The “Museum of Mahomes II” collection will include 15,000 NFTs, according to a representative, featuring artwork inspired by his entire NFL career to date. Museum of Mahomes has yet to reveal what platform it will hit NFTs on, let alone the price for the collectibles.

Mahomes, who led his team to victory in the last Super Bowl in February, first dropped his own NFTs in March 2021 and raised $3.7 million value of sales when the NFT space first caught fire. Owners of those original NFTs can claim physical versions of their collectibles, which will be signed by the MVP himself.
His previous drop in 2021 also used the “Museum of Mahomes” branding, but eventually took place MakersPlace, a broader NFT marketplace and platform. With this new version of the initiative, he launches his own dedicated platform. The project is led by a digital agency DOMwhich was also involved in the earlier decline.

A portion of the proceeds from the NFT sale will benefit Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation to benefit children in underserved communities through various initiatives.
“I am excited to offer physical replicas to holders of the Museum of Mahomes I collection and do some good in the world with the 15th and the Mahomies Foundation as part of the Museum of Mahomes II release,” said Mahomes in a release.
While Mahomes only started with NFTs, he has been the face of Dapper Labs’ NFL All Daywho served as official spokesperson when that digital collectibles platform opened to the public last August.
