Axelar has officially launched the Mobius Development Stack (MDS), a platform designed to provide customizable, self-service interoperability between different blockchains on its mainnet. Prominent layer 1 blockchains such as Sui, Stellar, XRP Ledger and security providers EigenLayer and OpenZeppelin will adopt the MDS to build a truly open and connected web3 ecosystem.
A renaissance awaits.
Beyond the cosmos.
Beyond Ethereum.
Beyond what you thought was possible in Web3.
Everything connected.
Imagine how great we could be.
The stakes have never been higher.
The promise has never been greater.Liquidity.

As a platform for an omnichain world, MDS helps break down the barriers between different blockchains. Developers can create applications that work across multiple networks and tailor MDS to their specific needs. The platform, which the team describes as the first to offer a holistic approach to interoperability, enables customizable, self-service integration with any system, on-chain or off-chain.
MDS’s approach can lead to a better user experience and drive more innovation, as people can interact with applications on different blockchains without having to switch between them. The platform aims to redefine user and data interaction on the Internet3 and promises a single connection with limitless possibilities.
“With MDS, we enable developers to build decentralized applications that freely compose resources, logic, value and network effects in a truly global Internet landscape,” said Georgios Vlachos, director of the Axelar Foundation and co-founder of the Axelar Protocol. said.
Axelar’s MDS will support major layer 1 blockchains via the Interchain Amplifier. This is one of the key features of the MDS that enables permissionless, dynamic and customizable integrations with different consensus approaches.
“Axelar MDS will give developers the tools to curate these innovations with technology and communities on the Internet3,” said Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Mysten Labs, developer of the Sui Network, about the launch.
In addition to the Interchain Amplifier, Axelar’s MDS introduces the Interchain Token Service (ITS). This feature will enable rapid tokenization of assets, reaching beyond traditional blockchain bridges to include real-world assets, expanding the scope for decentralized applications and financial services.
According to Jasmine Cooper, head of product at RippleX, seamless interoperability between different blockchains is essential to fully realize the potential of web3. She believes that integrating XRP Ledger with MDS RippleX can help facilitate cross-chain asset mobility and protocol access, bringing greater value to both users and developers.
The platform also integrates the very latest security features of Babylon and EigenLayer, improving cross-chain interactions with Bitcoin and Ethereum-level security.
“Integration with Axelar Mobius Development Stack opens up a universe of new possibilities in new use cases that were previously inaccessible to Eigen,” said Luke Hajdukiewicz, EigenLayer head of AVS BD. “Axelar and EigenLayer are pursuing the same vision: a horizontally scalable web3 in which developers can freely compose across user networks and resources.”
