STEPN GO e CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTDhave joined forces launch a new collection of NFT sneakers, as part of the “Virtual G-Shock” project.
The new collection offers a limited quantity of 800 NFT sneakersavailable via a raffle, which will be held from August 26 to 29 at the MOOAR marketplace.
Specifically, the exclusive sneakers in Non-Fungible Token format have a design inspired by G-SHOCK’s G-SQUAD sports line, suitable for both sports and virtual environments.
On a technical level, the NFT STEPN GO x G-SHOCK Genesis was created on the Polygon blockchain and are each priced at 10,000 (GMT).
As expected, the distribution will take place via the lottery. In practice, a random drawing will take place every 24 hours during the four-day sale period and winners will receive their NFTs on the MOOAR marketplace. There is a limit to the number of NFTs each wallet can win.
STEPN GO and the collaboration with Casio and the Virtual G-SHOCK project for NFT sneakers
At this point, this appears to be one of STEPN GO’s first partnerships with Casio and the Virtual G-SHOCK project. This means that the social lifestyle app lays the foundation for a mass adoption of Web3through innovative social functions.
Launched in September 2023, the “VIRTUAL G-SHOCK” initiative aims to expand Casio’s user base by introducing unique G-SHOCK experiences in virtual spaces such as NFTs and the Metaverse.

The Move-to-Earn in the social lifestyle app
TheSTEPN GO app falls into the ‘Move-to-Earn’ category. This is because users can earn by walking, jogging and running with digital NFT sneakers.
Coming on the heels of the success of the original version of STEPN, this app has captured over 5.6 million registered users, who own over 1 million NFT sneakers.
Its peculiarities include an important social element, called the “Haus system.” It’s a lending system that allows users to share their NFT sneaker with friends and family who are new to the app.
