South Korean gaming giant Wemade and Chainlink have announced the integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on WEMIX.
This partnership sets the stage for the highly anticipated global launch of the Web3 game NIGHT CROWS on March 12 in 170 countries, according to a press release shared with BSC News.
The integration of unagi(x), powered by CCIP, is an important step as it includes six chains: WEMIX, Kroma, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum and Polygon.
This integration allows players to effortlessly transfer in-game tokens and NFTs between different chains, providing a versatile and interconnected gaming experience.
Reports indicate that the decision to integrate CCIP was influenced by its advanced features, including programmable token transfers and a standardized interface for omnichain application development. This strategic move is intended to improve the gaming experience for NIGHT CROWS players and streamline the management of in-game assets.
Additionally, the integration introduces the “una Wallet,” which allows users to manage their assets and transfer assets over supported networks.
Metis revolutionizes cross-chain interoperability with CCIP
In a parallel development, Metis, the permissionless Ethereum layer-2 network, has set its sights on revolutionizing cross-chain interoperability by integrating Chainlink’s CCIP. This move, announced on March 1, is expected to take the Metis ecosystem to the next level, improving both the user and developer experience and accelerating widespread adoption.
Initial focus on stablecoins
Metis plans to initially focus on bridging leading stablecoins from the main Ethereum network to the Metis network. As integration progresses, it is expected that additional blockchain networks and tokens will be supported, further strengthening the growth trajectory of the Metis ecosystem.
