SI Tickets, the ticketing division of Sports Illustrated, plans to migrate its NFT Box Office ticketing platform from the Polygon blockchain to Avalanche. Ava Labs, the developer of Avalanche, will provide the resources and expertise to turn event tickets into dynamic digital content. This allows SI Tickets to better communicate with guests before, during and after events through the exclusive benefits of NFT tickets.
CEO of SI Tickets David LANE said the partnership with Ava Labs will provide critical resources that Polygon lacked. He spoke about the benefits of selling NFT tickets, explaining that it creates opportunities for further engagement and revenue streams for event organizers once the tickets are scanned. Lane believes the growing sports NFT market will drive mass adoption as fans see value in the NFT offering.
The launch coincides with the first season of Inspect Rewards, an initiative that rewards Avalanche fans for participating in the community. Users can connect their wallet to the Inspect analytics platform and set AVAX profile photos to qualify for rankings-based rewards. Ava Labs apparently sees a lot of potential in NFT ticket sales. It has invested in tixbase, another Web3 ticketing company, and in Dreamus, a South Korean concert ticketing platform that integrates with Avalanche.
