The financial technology company Revolut has reportedly refused to reimburse a customer who has lost crypto assets due to an administrative error.
BBC report That Tzoni Raykov, a Bulgarian subject, lost the money after an attempt to transfer $ 1500 to the Stablecoin USDC from a separate crypto portion to his revolutation account.
Raykov says that for the first time he sent $ 10 to USDC as a test and selected the Polygon POS (proof of stake) network to facilitate the transfer. The transfer of $ 10 was successful.
When Raykov then sent $ 1500 to USDC, he selected the “Polygon (Bridged)” network. He says that the transfer method has converted the Stablecoin into his bridged version, USDC.E. Revolut has reportedly received the bridged USDC, but the fintech company does not accept it actively.
The $ 1500 of the Stablecoin did not appear on the Raykov account or was sent back to him.
Revolut told the BBC that it couldn’t do anything about it.
“Like the standard industry practice because of the important technical challenges involved in supporting every combination of token and chain, the restoration of this non -supported assets is not within the scope of Revolut.”
Raykov, an oil engineer, says that Revolut’s deposit instructions were not specific enough.
“They wait until I get bored and give up, to accept that the money has disappeared. But I will not. It is ridiculous that they can behave that way.”
