Base has become a key part of OpenSea’s focus in recent months, as the market embraces the burgeoning NFT scene on a chain that doesn’t yet have deep-rooted, high-quality collections – unlike layer 1 chains like Ethereum mainnet or Solana.
“Get Based” is planned as an introduction to emerging artists on Base, while also helping to introduce collectors to the chain. OpenSea offers native asset bridging to Base, as well as the ability to make purchases with fiat currency and credit cards through a MoonPay integration.
“The Base ecosystem has proven to be a catalyst for new utility and creativity using NFTs,” said OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer. Declutter. “We have supported Base since its inception and are excited to highlight emerging artists with unique artistic styles and grow their presence within the greater NFT community.”
The series “Get Based” takes place next to that of Base upcoming “On-Chain Summer II” promotion, which launches on June 3 and will offer more than 600 ETH (nearly $2.3 million) in prizes, incentives, and gas credits for various projects and protocols. OpenSea participated in the promotion last year and was also a launch partner of Base.
