Sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) fell again this week, falling to 9.91% below the previous week’s figures. Data shows that approximately $72,767,450 worth of NFT sales were recorded during the period from September 24 to October 1, 2023, which marks the last seven-day period.
NFT sales continue to decline
While the crypto economy has risen over the past seven days, NFT sales have fallen again for the sixth week in a row. With $72.76 million in NFT sales, the week’s total is 9.91% lower than the previous week. However, the number of NFT buyers increased by 17.77% to 569,407 buyers. The number of NFT sellers also increased by 15.82% in the past week to 714,889.
In terms of NFT sales via blockchains, Ethereum emerged as the leader among 22 networks, with revenues of $37.27 million. This means that a significant 51.22% of the week’s NFT trades came from the Ethereum blockchain. Although leading, ETH-focused NFT sales saw a slight decline, registering a modest decline of 1.16% compared to the previous week.
Following on from this, Mythos NFT sales secured the second spot by reaching $7.83 million in sales, up 13.12% from last week. Polygon took third place in NFT sales this week, amassing $7.12 million, while Solana secured the fourth spot with a solid $5.86 million. From September 24 to October 1, Immutable
This week, the crown for best NFT collection was claimed by Mythos-based Dmarket, with $7.76 million in sales. Close on its heels, the second spot was taken by the Immutable X-housed compilation, Gods Unchained, which grossed a cool $5.22 million. Following the lead of the top two contenders in the seven-day sales race were Draftkings, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Sorare.
The spotlight of this week’s most luxurious NFT purchase shone on BAYC #591, which fetched $177,710 on Opensea’s marketplace just five days ago. On the Bitcoin blockchain, an NFT called Ordinal Maxi Biz had $44,217 on Magic Eden’s NFT market. Hot on their trail was Solana’s Boogle #066, which made $40,503, followed by BNB’s Starcraft Planets which made $32,544, and Cardano’s Earth Node #268 which closed the high-end sales race at $32,100.
