NFT cards of legendary anime Pokemon designed by Courtyard have been released on the Polygon network. The two-phase sale of Pokemon cards on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain ended successfully, with NFT enthusiasts purchasing 175 cards in a few seconds. In addition to the stablecoin USD Coin (USDC), the organizers accepted fiat money from credit cards.
According to analyst S4mmy.eth, those who participated in the token sale purchased so-called ‘Mystery Boxes’, each containing a unique physical Pokemon card. The analyst emphasized the similarity of this project to a lottery, but with a special audience of RWA collectors. This launch opens new perspectives for the trade in both physical and digital collectibles. Since the start of the sale, the minimum price has been immediately increased from $5 to $50, S4mmy.eth points out.
The past few weeks have been particularly productive for Polygon (MATIC). In August, it managed to surpass Solana (SOL) to become the second most active blockchain for NFT trading. Additionally, the company has partnered with a major Korean telecom operator to issue NFTs for its marketing program. Online trading platform Flipkart has also released an NFT on Polygon (MATIC) for its customers.
