Movement Labs is all set to release M2, the first Move Virtual Machine L2 for Ethereum, upgraded with Celestia in the form of a modular DA. Movement creates an ecosystem of modular, movement-focused blockchains using Celestia’s Blobstream and modular stack. It will also introduce public goods and tools to encourage adoption of the Move programming language in broader blockchain ecosystems.
Using Movement and Celestia, developers can implement secure, high-output Move VM rollups such as smart contracts. M2 allows developers to connect to Movement’s authentication system to monitor and manage the secure deployment of smart contracts. Furthermore, the implementation of Celestia, a high-throughput DA layer, results in economical gas costs.
The M2 mainnet will be the first Ethereum Layer 2 package to include this Celestia for data accessibility, Snowman Consensus for exchanged sequencing, and The Move Virtual Machine for implementation. This results in approximately 145+ transactions per second.
Various applications are being developed in the ecosystem that will use customized app chains, such as games, consumer applications and financial products.
With Movement’s Fractal Model, Solidity’s scripting can be converted into opcodes. M2 introduces the ability for Solidity projects to use Move potential and safety features.
Movement Labs gathers an ecosystem of applications and frameworks that connect to Movement from various virtual machines and blockchain networks. They are increasing support for Ethereum with DeFi essentials on top of Aptos and Sui ecosystems, along with EVM projects. This will also increase liquidity and improve connectivity for users delivering on the Movement Network.
Blobstream plays the role of a link between Ethereum and Celestia, creating a cheap and high-return effect. The goal of the movement is to democratize Move and integrate it with current blockchain ecosystems.
Movement Labs is involved in building tools and frameworks for improving the security and effectiveness of distributed networks. The priority is the security and upgradeability of blockchain technology.
