The creator of Cardano (ADA), Charles Hoskinson, warns that crypto scams will multiply with the rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Hoskinson predicts in a new video that Cardano will be lost for millions of dollars a year from now as scams that use generative AI take over.
“By this time next year, generative AI will have millions of dollars worth of ADA stolen.
It doesn’t matter how many times I warn you, how many times I talk about this, how many times I shout from the rooftops… you don’t get anything for nothing. You don’t get something for nothing. You don’t get something for nothing. It’s always a scam. It’s always a scam. I won’t ask you for ADA. I will not ask you for your private keys. I will not ask you to invest in some chain. It’s not going to happen. People will fall for it.
Unfortunately, there will now be video to convince you and audio to try and convince you. Because of generative AI, it’s pretty messed up. But that’s the future we live in and that’s where we are.”
According to Cardano’s maker, the only “surefire” way to authenticate identity is to use a Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) key.
“I could tell you the only surefire way to verify identity right now is with a PGP key. Because you can’t trust what you see and you can’t trust what you hear.
And scammers, they are bad people. They have no soul. They don’t care about you, they just want to steal your money.”
PGP is an encryption and decryption program used in data communication authentication. It provides cryptographic privacy.
