Decentraland’s Metaverse Art Week: what can you expect?
Good news for artists, collectors and content creators: Decentraland’s fourth Metaverse Art Week returns from July 19th! The annual event explores a bold theme that resonates with today’s web3 evolution: “The metaverse is dead. Long live the Metaverse.”
Basically, this concept challenged artists to reveal how much the digital space has changed over the years. Of course, this shift wouldn’t have been possible without content creators giving free rein to their imaginations digitally.
In other words, visitors to Metaverse Art Week will discover extravagant, bold, innovative and meaningful works of art. Vueltaan international art collective curated the exhibits.
“The bear market this year gave me a lot more freedom in putting together Metaverse Art Week. With much less to lose, artists can take more creative risks and form new, more experimental collaborations. One of the joys is connecting with the galleries and collectors who still support this risk appetite. said Bay Backner, the curator of Metaverse Art Week 2023.
Which artists are you seeing this year?
This year, Metaverse Art Week spotlights many talented underground digital artists. The most important installations and works of art confirmed so far are:
- RARE PEPE culture by DecentraPEPE Shrine;
- MESHa 3D art fair from Vueltta;
- HERE NOW by Michael Beets;
- VERTEX by Tangpoko & GucciToe.
If you are new to the event or the NFT space in general, you can also opt for a tour hosted by The WIP Meetup. Projects like Niftytime and Rizzle also provide great insights for web3 newbies!
Will there also be Metaverse parties?
If there’s one thing Decentraland does well, it’s metaverse parties. These social events connect people and help creators get exposure – and Metaverse Fashion Week is a good example.
That’s why Metaverse Art Week also brings some fun events. Vueltta has prepared a special gathering for each event day, including rave parties, 1970s New York vibes, and even Blade Runner futuristic settings. Some of the main organizers behind these events include Casa Roustan, Dollhouse, Sugar Club, and MetaParty.
Overall, the Decentraland Metaverse Art Week 2023 promises to deliver an immersive experience while also paying tribute to the top web3 visual creators.
