Major League Soccer on Monday launched a new NFT collecting platform called MLS Quest on the Sui Network, in partnership with crypto startup Sweet.
The free-to-play experience allows soccer fans to search for Key Play of the Game Medallions at online and physical pick-up zones across North America, including at real-world MLS matches. Once claimed, the digital medallions reveal highlights from past and current MLS matches.
Fans who collect all four medallions from one match complete a “quest” and unlock rewards such as team merchandise, autographed jerseys, tickets and exclusive experiences.
Collecting is now an epic adventure! Dive into MLS QUEST, where you can collect iconic Major League Soccer plays, complete missions and win rewards like match tickets, merchandise and exclusive collectibles.

“At MLS, we continually strive to grow our fan base and improve the fan experience,” Chris Schlosser, Major League Soccer SVP of Emerging Ventures, said in a statement. “With MLS Quest and our partnership with Sweet, we are excited to offer a unique collecting challenge that embodies our commitment to cutting-edge digital innovation.”
MLS Quest has launched with a free redeemable collectible from the platform’s official website. Additional collectibles are offered through the marketplace, currently starting at a price of $4.
Many of the world’s biggest sports leagues have joined NFT collectibles since Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot found mainstream success on the Flow blockchain in early 2021. Dapper itself has launched subsequent platforms with the NFL and UFC, while MLB and the NHL are among other US leagues that have introduced digital collecting experiences.
