Louis Vuitton has opened its Discord server, developed to foster a stronger link with digital communities and NFT holders.
The Discord server is essentially a chat room with various thematic, interactive and immersive discussions. It will mainly focus on gaming, sports, Web3, technology, virtual reality and other professions around these topics.
Louis Vuitton’s new Discord server will showcase LV’s expertise, giving members access to exclusive content and sharing opinions. The thread invites community members to participate in developing new ideas, which greatly adds to the digital experience.
Many have criticized Discord for its aesthetic and user experience, but proponents believe it is valuable because access to exclusive content and conversations can be token-gated. This means that people with certain NFTs can only access them.
Discord also has a current audience of gamers since the platform initially started as a platform for interaction. Naturally, gamers were among the first users to join the virtual world and have easily become the primary audience for branded NFTs and virtual goods.
Interactivity between Web3 community members have become the new horizon, where comfort lies in intricately planned and highly polished products and moments. Furthermore, the timing of LV’s arrival on the Discord platform was completely unexpected.
Several early adopters opened their respective Discord servers, including Diesel, Adidas, Prada and Gucci, but the conversations were limited to news events only.
However, in June, Via, an ongoing project, was announced to provide exclusive access to digital and physical products or experiences through NFT ownership. The rollout involved influential personalities from Web3 and fashion to facilitate communication about the project.
So far, Via’s basic communication channels include a dedicated website, LinkedIn and Twitter. However, Louis Vuitton’s investments in Via and Discord indicate a long-term intention.
