Stargate, a cross-chain bridge built on LayerZero, has been offline for more than six hours due to malfunctioning Decentralized Verifier Networks (DVN) executors, causing delays in transaction processing across multiple blockchains.
Blockchain security firm PeckShield first reported the outage earlier today and advised users to halt cross-chain transfers until further notice.
#PeckShieldAlert Our community has reported that #Stargate is currently unavailable.
Please *do NOT* use Stargate for cross-chain money transfers at this time. Transactions get stuck during transport.— PeckShieldAlert (@PeckShieldAlert) December 20, 2024
Web3 security company ExVul later noted that Stargate was unavailable for almost six hours.
🚨🚨🚨URGENT: @StargateFinance is currently offline. DO NOT attempt to perform cross-chain transfers using Stargate. Your money may be at risk.

At the time of reporting, approximately 29,700 transactions have been frozen within the system, according to LayerZero Scan data.
The Stargate development team confirmed that the incident was caused by an error on the part of the DVN network operators. LayerZero’s technical team is working on a solution to the problem.
