Either someone is fooling us all, or they are a secret genius hiding a message on a regular site…
(We just don’t know which one yet).
Last weekend, someone spent $66,000 writing (also known as loading) data onto the Bitcoin blockchain.
…and no one can decipher what the mixture of text and symbols means.
Here’s some context to bring the “strangeness” into focus…
Anyone who wants to upload data to the Bitcoin blockchain will typically pay around $200 in transaction fees.
(Sometimes closer to $1,000 depending on the amount of data they are trying to upload and the overall transaction demand).
So if a wallet spends $66,000 to upload a bunch of (seemingly) nonsensical data, that gets people’s attention.
Even the Bitcoin Ordinals X account posted about it:
βοΈTrying to decipher that is well above our pay scaleβοΈ
So if you know what it means, give us a hint, yeah?
(We want in on the joke).
