TL; DR
-
The more developers working on blockchain apps, the more likely a “no instructions needed” user experience will become a reality.
-
Developer retention within the Solana ecosystem has increased from ~30% to over 50% in the last three months.
-
More developers = more things to do on Solana = more ways to entice new users = more users = more incentive for developers to build the chain. It’s a beautiful cycle 🥲.
Full story
We have a dream that we would like to realize one day, and it goes something like this:
We make our parents download the blockchain application and they start using it without any “Can you help me with this?” from dad…
Or that you have to give something “Look, what you have to do” over mother’s shoulder.
The app just works. No instructions needed.
We don’t care if it happens on Bitcoin, Ethereum or Harry Potter Obama Sonic 10 Inuas long as it happens possibly.
The only thing we know for sure is:
The more developers working on blockchain apps, the more likely a “no instructions needed” user experience will become a reality.
Therefore, we are pleased to report:
Solana, which is widely considered one of the more user-friendly blockchains, is not only attracting new developers, but to hold them.
Developer retention within the Solana ecosystem has increased from ~30% to over 50% in the last three months.
More developers = more things to do on Solana = more ways to entice new users = more users = more incentive for developers to build the chain.
(It’s a beautiful cycle 🥲).
And certainly, a bump in developer retention on a lone blockchain won’t Guarantee the release of a dad-friendly blockchain app.
…but it helps.
