The Interchain Foundation finances the Tharsis Labs team to release an open-source EVMOs, the Ethereum-compatible Layer 1 solution aimed at stimulating interoperability between Ethereum and Cosmos.
The financing will open Tharsis Labs Open -Source EVMOs, which brings the functionality of Cosmos (Atom) to users on the Ethereum (ETH) network.
Interchain Foundation, the entity that helps to promote the Cosmos ecosystem and the Interblockchain communication protocol, announced the development on March 18.
With EVMOs, developers can build EVM-driven decentralized applications and chains using the Cosmos Software Development Kit. Tharsis Labs will open the Ethereum virtual machine-compatible software under the Apache 2.0 license, said Interchain Foundation.
In this case, ICF will rename the technology of EVMOS forks and these Cosmos EVM, so that the steward of the Cosmos Ecosystem can continue the development of the project.

Cosmos EVM will be part of the Interchain Stack and will be built under the Interchain Labs team.
“We believe that this is the right thing for the community for the lifetime of the code that we have developed, and are enthusiastic about the support of the ICF of this. I look forward to contributing to this next phase in a strategic advisory role,” said Federico Kunze Küllmer, co-founder of EVMOS Labs.
According to the ICF, an open-source origin will see further integration of the forked technical pile, which brings permissionless innovation into space. The integration of EVMOs as the most important EVM solution for Cosmos-Richt on benefits such as cross-chain communication for scaling Defi applications.
Despite the financing and forking of the EVMOs, the ICF says it is committed to the project map of the Prjec. In addition to Ethereum compatibility, the Interchain Foundation wants to build EVMOs in the solution that can tap into all proof-of-stake networks for new acceptance of Web3.
“Evmos is a crucial piece in bridging the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems, and we are delighted to support the continuous evolution of the Interchain Foundation under the umbrella of the Interchain Foundation,” said Josh Cincinnati, president of the ICF’s Foundation.
In July last year, Layerzero Labs worked with Initia Labs for an interoperability standard for Cosmos. The collaboration was intended to bring Omnichain’s interoperability to boxes SDK and Layerzero chains.
