In a major move poised to shape the esports landscape in South Korea, renowned data platform GRID has forged a groundbreaking partnership with the South Korean eSports Association (KeSPA).
This partnership is the first of its kind as KeSPA, founded in 2000 and directly backed by the South Korean government, joins forces with a data company in the country.
Strengthening the Korean esports market
GRID’s partnership with KeSPA marks a pivotal moment for the Korean esports scene, as it introduces access to official esports data services and ushers in a new era of promoting sustainable esports growth
The partnership between GRID and KeSPA underlines a shared commitment to sustainably advancing the Korean esports ecosystem. By leveraging official esports data services, both entities aim to align with South Korea’s overarching vision for industry growth while adhering to regulatory frameworks.
This strategic alliance enhances the professionalization of esports programs and increases the quality of broadcast entertainment for enthusiasts across the country.
Moritz Mauer, Founder and CEO of GRID, expressed his excitement about the partnership and emphasized the shared goal of providing local stakeholders with robust tools for improving esports programs and broadcast experiences.
He emphasized the importance of integrity when handling esports data, reaffirming GRID’s commitment to obtaining information exclusively through official channels.
A series of strategic partnerships
GRID’s partnership with KeSPA adds to the growing number of strategic alliances in 2024. In January, the company strengthened partnerships with prominent entities such as broadcaster LTN and fantasy esports platform E-GO App.
Additionally, in February, GRID expanded its esports data partnership with leading betting company DATA.BET, further strengthening its position as a key player in the esports data landscape.
