- Gate.io is launching a charity NFT collection called Furry Friends.
- Proceeds from NFT sales go to animal rescues.
- NFTs are cheap today compared to last year – BAYC floor price is half of mid-2022.
Gate.io announced the launch of Furry Friends, a non-fungible token (NFT) collection of dogs who have benefited from Gate Charity – the philanthropic arm of the said exchange. According to the exchange, the revenue from the NFT sales will be used to fund Gate Charity’s operations.
Please support @gatecharity and their Paw Friends NFT collection, dedicated to protecting and nurturing our beloved companion animals. ❤️

Up to 500 NFTs can be minted by interested buyers for $10 each. These will feature 20 unique photos of the dogs rescued by Gate Charity in partnership with Bohol Animal Rescue and Kindness (BARK), an animal shelter in Bohol, Philippines.
All proceeds go towards the expenses necessary to keep the rescued dogs well fed and cared for until they recover from their past trauma and abuse. In addition, Gate Charity wants to further expand its rescue operations.
Gate.io is one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in the world in terms of trading volume and users. As for the amount of money it will raise from NFTs, only time will tell, especially as NFTs have declined in terms of popularity and market value.
For example, the bottom price of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has dropped to $65,447 at the time of writing. Last year the bottom price was at least double what it is now.
