Ubisoft, the legendary video game publisher behind the Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance franchises, is introducing a free NFT mint this week for its first original blockchain-based game, Champion Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles.
It will take place on Oasys, a gaming-focused network, the coin lets players collect a total of 75,000 in-game champion figures. It will be a completely free coin with no gas costs for users, although holders of the existing Warlords NFTs will get first dibs and be able to claim more champions.
The first phase of the coin begins on Monday, as holders of the game’s Warlords profile photo (PFP) NFTs – which were minted Ethereum And given away for free at the end of last year– will be able to mint up to five champion NFTs.
Although given away for free, the Warlords NFTs start at around $210 worth of ETH through secondary marketplaces. According to data from NFTgothe 9,999-item project has amassed trading volume worth approximately $7.7 million since last December’s mint.

For users who do not own a Warlords NFT, this is possible coinless champion NFTs on Oasys from Thursday 18 July. That will also be a free coin, although users will need to have a Ubisoft account, an Oasys wallet and be at least 18 years old.
Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles is an original blockchain-based strategy game that Ubisoft first announced last summer. Ubisoft launched the first closed beta for the game last week ahead of this NFT coin, as the publisher ramps up the rollout ahead of a full launch sometime this year.
