Decentraland just introduced custom emotes for its creators. Like wearables, creators can create unique emotes. This can be anything from dance moves to dramatic poses. Not only that, but creators can also sell the emotes as NFTs on the Decentraland Marketplace.
Decentraland custom emotes: what we know so far
At the moment, 19 basic emotes are available for free to every player on Decentraland. In addition to these basic emotes, there are now custom Decentraland emotes you can use create, sell and buy on the Decentraland Marketplace.
NFT Emotes made their first appearance at Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week earlier this year. In addition to this event, celebrities (such as Thalia) collaborated with Decentraland on the brand’s Emotes. Now Emotes are entering the creator marketplace. Therefore, anyone can now create and sell their own emotes.
Decentraland announced that creators will be able to show off their custom Emotes during the Metaverse Music Festival. In addition, the Decentraland Foundation is organizing an Emote competition in the run-up to the event. The exact details will be announced shortly.
About Decentraland
Decentraland is a 3D virtual world – or metaverse – where users can purchase plots of land as NFT using the in-game crypto token MANA. It is overseen by the Decentraland Foundation, a non-profit organization.
Decentraland has been in development since 2015, but it reached its peak in 2021. In April 2021, the Decentraland plots were sold for thousands of dollars. During the year, Decentraland collaborated with brands such as Samsung, Adidas and Atari, all of which have their headquarters in Decentraland. No doubt Decentraland’s custom Emotes will continue to increase the playability element of the game.
