Chromia, a Layer-1 relational blockchain platform, has announced a strategic investment and technical partnership with Chasm Network, a leader in decentralized artificial intelligence.
The need for accountability and transparency in these systems has increased as AI is increasingly incorporated into everyday tasks. To address these issues, Chasm Network is developing decentralized AI models that allow humans to see and validate decision-making processes.
On Thursday, October 24, Chasm Network’s native token, Chasm AI ($CAI), will debut on Mantle, an Ethereum Layer-2 rollup. Chromia will act as a decentralized database layer to store essential AI inference data, while Mantle will provide the core infrastructure for Chasm.
Chasm opML Database, a decentralized application based on Chromia, is responsible for managing the tasks. The first version has already been created and deployed on Chromia’s main network. The program ensures the verifiability of sources used in AI decision-making processes by producing transparent and immutable data.
The Scout Layer and Weave are the two key components of Chasm Network, an AI economy platform designed to accelerate the creation of AI applications. Featuring an orchestrator that uses a mix-of-models strategy to intelligently route user requests, the Scout Layer is a decentralized system in which node operators compete to choose the best AI models and computing resources. This makes it easier for developers to leverage AI capabilities while maintaining a balance between cost-effectiveness and performance. Chasm Network drives innovation in the AI ecosystem by bridging the gap between the promise of AI and real-world applications.
KC Thee, co-founder of Chasm, stated:
“Chromia’s relational architecture is ideally suited for managing Chasm Network’s inference data. This collaboration ensures that AI systems using Chasm’s opML inference mechanisms are accessible, tamper-proof, and decentralized, enabling controls that prevent bias and manipulation.”

“This partnership underlines Chromia’s ability to integrate with data-intensive projects in the crypto ecosystem. Our collaboration improves secure and efficient data management for complex use cases, including decentralized AI.”
In the future, the projects will continue to work together to improve the current application, while at the same time looking for new areas for improvement. As Chromia continues to expand its mainnet ecosystem with its newly created Data and AI Ecosystem Fund, Chasm Network is gearing up to debut its own token.
