You know that feeling you get when you discover something new that you become obsessed with?
The one that is followed by the thought: “Oh, I’m definitely going to lose several hours, days, months of my life to this…”
We first experienced it on September 3, 1998 (the day Pokemon Yellow was released in Australia).
And uh… we just had that feeling again.
Yesterday, Spectral Labs (a crypto development company) released ‘Syntax’…
That’s an AI bot designed to help programmers write/build blockchain apps more efficiently, AND – get this:
Make it easier for non-programmers to build blockchain apps.
We haven’t had a chance to try it out yet (we have a newsletter to write), so we can’t fully vouch for its capabilities yet…
But you better believe that our loved ones will be blankly ignored this weekend as we stare longingly (and a little hooded) at our computer screens.
This is why it’s worth getting so excited about it (even if you’re not going to use it)…
“I don’t have time” and “I don’t have money” – these are two common excuses that everyone makes in their daily lives (often rightly so).
In the context of building a Web3 app, these excuses might go something like this:
-
From developers: “I’m not going to invest all that time if there isn’t a clear return in the end.”
-
From users: “I don’t have the time or money to learn how to turn my ideas into reality.”
Tools like Syntax have the potential to increase Web3’s overall developer pool (creating a greater diversity of app offerings) by lowering the knowledge and time requirements to complete a project from start to finish.
It’s a wonderful technological evolution, isn’t it? 🥲
