BNB Chain successfully deployed his long-awaited Maxwell hard-fork on the test network. This launch delivers fast blockchain performance with low latency.
Maxwell’s mainstactivation is planned for 30 June 2025. Nevertheless, these implementation positions BNB chain to compete for Solana and Ethereum -Blockchains on specific statistics.
Maxwell Upgrade from BNB Chain: what users need to know
The upgrade, activated on block 5,255,2978, represents a fundamental overhaul of the consensus and network infrastructure of BNB chain. It significantly reduces block times, improves the communication of the validator and improves synchronization efficiency, which are integral factors for scaling user and developer experiences on the chain.
“Maxwell hardfork successfully activated on BNB ketentestnet … Developers and validators are encouraged to start testing the new infrastructure,” Shared BNB chain in a post.
The network called his Maxwell Hard -Vork for tribute to James Clerk Maxwell, the physicist who united electricity and magnetism. Likewise, BNB Chain’s upgrade has focused on harmonizing two often competing blockchain priorities: speed and stability.
It shortens the block time in half of 1.5 seconds to just 0.75 seconds. New technical improvements accompany this dramatic acceleration to maintain validator and junction synchronization. This would ensure that faster blocks are not at the expense of network health or decentralization.
One of the most important changes introduced is adjustments to consensus cadence and network reproduction. The length of the era has been extended from 500 to 1,000 blocks and validators now lead 16 blocks per turn. This keeps the adjustment stable, even when blocks arrive more often.
Furthermore, the gas limit per block has halved from 70 million to 35 million, so that the transit remains stable and network congestion and state bloat are prevented.
With the network layer, new mechanisms can spread blocks within 400 milliseconds in validators. Similarly, improved range of range of range help that help behind nodes, even under the faster cadence.
Implications for users and rival block chains
The implications for end users are in -depth. With sub-second block times and finality that are now approaching for 1.9 seconds, the BNB chain comes closer to a web2-like experience.
Transactions such as swaps, peppermints or gameplay promotions can be confirmed immediately. This improved responsiveness limits the psychological gap between web2 and web3 and offers users a smooth and immediate experience.
The upgrade also opens new design options for developers. Real-time gaming, prediction markets and high-frequency trade Dapps can work directly on Layer-1 without trusting individual fast chains.
In the meantime, the BNB chain is already showing a strong momentum. According to data on Defillama, it is currently leading the decentralized Exchange (DEX) sector with more than $ 13 billion in 24 -hour trade volume, almost six times more than Solana.

Data on Chainspect also show that transaction feeding has risen by 37%per second, with BNB chain that uses 12 times more transactions than Ethereum.
However, on block time and finality statistics, the BNB chain remains 87.5% and 99.21% respectively, less than Ethereum.

Industry observers are optimistic. Defi -Influencer Elja pointed out that the previous Lorentz Hard -fork from BNB Chain has lowered ten times in the Lorentz hard fork.
With Maxwell promising even higher speeds, better validator coordination and smarter synchronization, Elja called the “still bullisher” for the future of BNB Chain.
“Lorentz Hardfork resulted in 10x gas costs reduction and increased TPS. The upcoming Maxwell -hardfork will still be Bullisher for Bnbchain,” Elja noted.
One user repeated the sentiment and said that the upgrade must resolve the high failure rates they have experienced before during the sale of wallets.
As the countdown goes to Maving, the Maxwell Hard Fork Positions BNB chain positions at the forefront of high-quality low-1 block chains. It combines lightning -fast version with compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and infrastructure spring power.

Despite this news, however, the BNB price has only risen by a modest 0.05% for the past 24 hours. At the moment it was trade for $ 674.08.
