Today marks the launch of Black Mirror’s Smile Club, a groundbreaking collaboration between Pixelynx, Animoca Brands and Banijay Brands, now available on Base.

Inspired by the critically acclaimed ‘Nosedive’ episode, Smile Club introduces a groundbreaking mix of digital collectibles and immersive storytelling. Fans are invited to mint their characters and embark on quests to earn the coveted 5-star rating through SMLE points.
This innovative project combines collectibles, digital experiences and live episodic content. The first pilot episode, developed in collaboration with BasedAF, promises to immerse users in a world where their actions can determine future episodes.
A star-studded rollout
The trip kicked off with a star-studded spectacle, with luminaries like Transmoderna, Dixon, deadmau5, Richie Hawtin and more in Times Square. The campaign hinted at the role of social scores and the rating system, setting the stage for social challenges, interactive quests and exclusive rewards.
In a society driven by status, early adopters reap the biggest rewards. Collect points to climb the social ladder, with early minters enjoying the highest status and reaping the benefits of the SMLE rewards system.
The first pilot episode, a collaboration with BasedAF, a virtual production channel, went live this week and demonstrated Smile Club’s potential to span multiple media and captivate global audiences. This innovative approach presents a new vision for digital collectibles, allowing users to create characters, participate in quests and potentially shape future episodes.
