The deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) says that the community of law enforcement and intelligence can use crypto to detect American opponents and disturb their activities.
In an interview with Crypto Bull and influencer Anthony Pompliano, Michael Ellis says that Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies have potential applications in the midst of views that bad actors use these assets to perform illegal activities.
“We use technology as a tool and bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are a different tool in the toolbox. It is something we can use to disturb the use of our opponents and we can use these technologies to collect more intelligence, to collect more information about them.
Ellis also says that Crypto is not a passing trend. He says that although not everyone in the government shares open or progressive views on new technologies, he and CIA director John Ratcliffe help to lead changes in the intelligence service.
“Bitcoin is here to stay. Cryptocurrency is here to stay. More and more institutions are taking on and I think that is a great trend and a where this administration clearly went forward.”
