Blockchain infrastructure designer Alchemy has launched a rollup-focused innovation in the crypto ecosystem.
Alchemy’s introduction of Alchemy Rollups represents a notable step forward in the crypto ecosystem. It provides developers with a comprehensive toolkit for rollup-centric development and aims to streamline the process of developing, optimizing, launching, and growing layer 2 blockchains with an emphasis on scale, speed, and cost-efficiency.
According to product leader Monica Garde, Alchemy’s offering provides developers with the same “proven infrastructure” that powers some of the most trusted networks in the decentralized finance (DeFi) world. “Running an interchange is not that difficult; the hardest part is doing it reliably and at scale,” Garde said.
Rollups, praised by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin as crucial for scaling DeFi and improving dapp efficiency, are designed to reduce congestion on layer 1 networks. Alchemy Rollups will initially integrate with the Arbitrum Orbit and Optimism Stack frameworks.
Developers can use zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs or optimistic systems when building rollup-oriented chains.
“We plan to explore ZK frameworks later this year,” Garde told crypto.news via email.

Why Alchemy Rollups?
While Ethereum has long been the defi hub with a total value of over $66.9 billion, building on Ether’s mainnet can be expensive. L2 ecosystems provide a cheaper option without sacrificing security and industry confidence, but layer 2 networks still struggle to optimize shared resources.

Garde noted that providing innovators with the tools to build and launch their own chains unlocks monetization opportunities for teams, giving creators the financial space to keep building. It also allows developers to tailor decentralized solutions to product-market fit and create value.
Today we are proud to introduce Rollups.
