Gelato Network, known for its roll-up as a service platform within the Web3 space, has announced a major milestone with the launch of the Lisk L2 Developer Mainnet. This development marks a pivotal moment for Gelato as it continues to broaden its reach and enhance its offerings in the decentralized ecosystem.
The Lisk L2 Developer Mainnet is not just a layer; it is part of Gelato’s strategic initiative to integrate more deeply with the Optimism network, ushering in a new era of interoperability and efficiency in blockchain technology.
Driving innovation and interoperability in Web3
During the first Devnet phase, Gelato facilitated the deployment of key infrastructure components such as bridges, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and applications in preparation for the launch of the public mainnet. This phase was critical in ensuring that Lisk L2 could be seamlessly integrated into the Optimism collective known as the Superchain.
This integration aims to increase sequencer revenue and contribute to a unified network of rollups that promise to revolutionize the way developers and applications interact on the blockchain.
Lisk Devnet’s transition to become the first Layer 1 blockchain to migrate to Optimism’s network underlines significant progress in the blockchain domain. This step uses Optimism’s OP Stack, which is designed to promote a unifying framework for rollups, improving communication, security, and governance within the network.
The Superchain, which now ranks Lisk among its thirteenth chain integrations, supports asset bridging without fragmentation, shared governance under the OP Collective, and a robust security model that benefits all participating chains.
Furthermore, the Gelato Network has expanded its ecosystem with more than 17 infrastructure providers, enriching the chain’s environment with diverse services. These providers range from Web3 capabilities such as Across Fi for bridging, RedStone oracles for reliable data feeds, to user interface solutions such as Protofire Safe UI and deep analytics from Goldskyio indexers.

This robust infrastructure supports a wide range of applications and developers, including notable entities like Velodrome, Thirdweb and the Secret Network, enhancing the developer experience (DevEx) through enhanced interoperability and feature-rich capabilities.
The growth figures from Lisk’s first quarter performance further illustrate the impact of these developments. Since the creation of the testnet, more than 32,000 wallets have been created, enabling more than 10,000 contracts and daily transactions exceeding 43,000. In total, the testnet has processed over 6.3 million transactions, a testament to the platform’s scalability and robust demand for its services.
Gelato’s integration with the Optimism collective and the resulting launch of the Lisk L2 Developer Mainnet are not just technical upgrades, but are crucial in shaping the future landscape of decentralized finance (DeFi) and decentralized applications (dApps).
By enabling seamless cross-chain functionality and fostering a collaborative environment under the OP Collective governance, Gelato is setting new standards in the blockchain space, driving innovation and simplifying the complexity of decentralized networks.
