Nowadays, hundreds of millions of people have Bitcoin and other tokens organized on block chains worth trillions of dollars.
Blockchains accommodate more and more than tokens. Blockchains are in fact our future tech stack, and they can also host advanced web apps, who live completely onchain, just like tokens. These apps are fully implemented from network-benefit code (ie smart contract software and their evolutions).
This has a huge potential: by the end of 2025, more than 5 billion people will have connected smartphones with web browsers on the internet. So what could she encourage and use full-onchain-web apps, what can seamless web3 functionality sport be?
I believe that a new blockchain revolution is imminent, thanks to the advancing AI and the “self -writing app” technology.
This relates to an important emerging trend called ‘vibe coding’. Vibe coding includes software that use tools with integrated AI that can write and repair on their behalf software code, making them much more productive.
The self-writing apps paradigm goes much further, by enabling non-technical users to create, possess and update apps easily by instructing AI via chat. For reasons I will explain, Blockchain is in a unique position to bring this revolutionary functionality to the world.
In the future, a person will be able to create a personal brand website, or something like an adapted wedding planning app for a family member who is getting married, just by talking to AI. An entrepreneur without technical staff or money can create a new type of e-commerce website or build an app app app with web3 rails. And a company will be able to create advanced CRM functionality, for an infinitely small fraction of the investment in time and money currently required. All just by talking, without the need for software engineering or system management skills.
In this new development paradigm, everyday users will give instructions to AI while chatting and their web browser to renew a little later to communicate with their new or updated app.
Apps that live on blockchain have a number of valuable functions. They are sovereign and censorship-resistant, because they live on a public network, they are cut-out-wasting resistant, which means that they are safe without being dependent on cyber security, incredibly resilient, and can integrate powerful web3 functionalities seamlessly because they live in the chain.
Moreover, Blockchain technology solves major problems involved in having AI -build solo on traditional IT.
The code that is performed on traditional, for example, must be written carefully to prevent security holes from being introduced, and the entire platform is sensitive to security configurations, from cloud accounts, to operating systems that are performed on cloud instances such as Linux, to host platform software such as databases and web servants. This means that traditional IT infrastructure often has to be further protected by cyber security systems such as firewalls and anti-malware. Failover and back -up and recovery are a different care, and service providers must be trusted.
AI trusting to build solo on traditional IT is a piece, because even a single error can lead to a cyber attack that results in data -sex filtration or ransomware that coding data.
Block chains make it much easier for AI to build solo in many different ways. The network resident code blockchains-host is, for example, ‘serverless’, and simplifies the coding tasks that AI must perform, so that code can be produced faster. On the internet computer network, Code can also operate safe interactive web experiences directly to end users, and it can efficiently store and process enormous amounts of data, and even be used to build things such as a fully social network (e.g. OC.App) or an important enterprise application.
At Dfinity we are large believers in self -writing apps that run on public block chains, which we call the ‘self -writing internet’, and have been developing supporting technologies for several years.
To write apps themselves to achieve their maximum potential, it should not only be possible for users to make them by talking, but also to keep updating and improving them in production so that they can talk until they need what they need, or a design that is optimal. Unless users can continue to update apps that are carried out in production, the total market that is being tackled by the self-writing app paradigm will only reach a small fraction of the enormous potential.
Dfinity has developed a programming language framework called Motoko for use by AI, as well as people. When a user updates an app by adding or changing functionality, the AI must also describe how the data structure in the app can be updated, so that no lost is lost. If the AI tries to install an update, the framework can detect whether an error has been made, so that even a small amount of data would be lost inadvertently, so that it can ask the AI to try it again.
We believe that the self -writing internet technology in Blockchain will democratize and decentralize and are pleased that a new platform called Cafeine.ai will soon be released. Just by having interaction with caffeine via chat, users will make sovereine apps on the internet computer, possess and update on the internet computer and the world computer wider, which for us is the fusion of all block chains that can host tokens and smart contract software.
In the future it will be possible to say: “Build me a personal Google photos that I can share with my family and friends, where we can add comments and emoji reactions to photos” or “build a transfer system so that I can pay my international contractors using stablecoins.”
In block chains, human imagination instead of technical skills will increasingly be the limit in making web apps. The release of the utility will stimulate an enormous acceptance of blockchain, although users are often not aware that blockchain lies behind their play-changing experiences.
I have long been talking about a “blockchain gingerbread” that takes place where decentralized networks will become an important new technical stack. I think this is how we get there, and the future is almost here.
