Top US crypto exchange Coinbase announces a partnership with credit card giant Visa for real-time account-to-account transactions.
In a new one press releaseAccording to the payments giant, the partnership will allow customers in the US and EU to use eligible Visa debit cards to instantly fund their Coinbase accounts, bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets.
“By integrating with the Visa Direct network, Coinbase customers can fund their Coinbase account in real-time using eligible Visa debit cards.
Coinbase already has millions of users with a debit card linked to their account, and this new feature will help unlock real-time delivery of account funds for those using an eligible Visa debit card…
Visa Direct ensures fast and secure money movements and further helps bridge the gap between traditional financial and blockchain technologies, minimizing wait times for funds to become available.”
Visa Direct also allows customers to purchase digital assets directly with their debit card and withdraw funds to a bank account.
As Akash Shah, senior director of product management at Coinbase, says in the press release:
“Providing this feature to our customers supports our mission to increase economic freedom around the world. The integration with Visa Direct gives our eligible customers real-time access to their trading funds.
By enabling them to move money seamlessly and take control of their finances, we provide the confidence, security and flexibility they expect.”
