US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has reportedly pledged to support the crypto and artificial intelligence (AI) industries if she wins the upcoming November elections.
Bloomberg reports that Harris pledged to help increase investment in AI and digital asset technologies during a fundraiser in New York City on Sunday.
“I will bring together employees, founders and innovators from small businesses and large corporations. We will work together to invest in America’s competitiveness, to invest in America’s future. We will encourage innovative technologies such as AI and digital assets, while protecting our consumers and investors.”
At the event, Harris presented to donors what she labeled an agenda for an “opportunity economy.”
“We will create a safe operating environment with consistent and transparent traffic rules. We will invest in semiconductors, clean energy and other industries of the future, and we will reduce unnecessary bureaucracy.”
Last month, Jeremy Allaire, CEO of stablecoin publisher Circle, said said that the US digital asset industry wants more clarity on Harris’ position on crypto.
“I think what the industry is very clearly looking for is clear statements potentially coming from the existing White House and clear statements from Harris as part of her economic policy agenda.”
