The Web3 Foundation, the organization behind Polkadot, has awarded a Decentralized Futures (DF) grant to Accelerate Polkadot, which aims to increase developer productivity within the Polkadot ecosystem.
The company stated:
“This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide developers with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the Polkadot ecosystem through comprehensive, targeted guides.”
This funding comes shortly after a similar grant was awarded to PolkaPort East to fuel the growth of Polkadot’s Asian ecosystem.
Accelerate Polkadot
Accelerate Polkadot is a strategic initiative designed to lower barriers to entry for developers on the Polkadot platform.
This program provides detailed, code-focused guides that demonstrate practical applications and real-world examples, making it easier for developers to launch innovative projects within the Polkadot ecosystem.
These resources are designed to be both accessible and engaging, allowing developers to start building quickly. The Web3 Foundation stated:
“All content produced is open source and promotes transparency and community engagement. Developers are encouraged to contribute and provide feedback, fostering a collaborative environment.”
The first proposed content pack focuses on creating a team management and reward system for the Cores & Conquests game.
In this game, players can form guilds that others can petition for. Guild members participate in governance by voting, managing aspects such as the admission and exclusion of members, choosing adventures, and distributing loot. This project will gamify the development of a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
Accelerate Polkadot said that this project will demonstrate much of the core functionality of the Polkadot SDK and introduce developers to crucial concepts such as decentralized decision making, Sybil resistance, strike and slash, as well as various voting systems (including quorum voting, allowed relative majority, square voting, condemnation voting, holographic consensus and liquid democracy) in a familiar context.
