Tencent Cloud, in partnership with MultiversX, has introduced a new blockchain infrastructure solution aimed at easing the transition for developers to the Web3 space. This initiative is part of a broader effort by both tech giants to enhance the development of blockchain-based gaming. Their joint efforts include providing startup grants and support for ecosystem hackathons, fostering a robust environment for innovation.

Tencent Cloud’s latest development includes a 1-click node hosting service designed specifically for Web3 developers. This service allows newcomers to quickly start developing applications on MultiversX without having to understand the complex underlying infrastructure. It effectively reduces the time and knowledge required to deploy and manage MultiversX blockchain infrastructure nodes, which previously required hours of research and hands-on practice.
Configurations for different needs
To meet the diverse demands of Web3 applications, Tencent Cloud’s service offers multiple configurations to meet specific on-chain requirements. While these nodes are not part of the consensus process, they are critical because they handle user requests such as submitting transactions and displaying data such as wallet token balances – a necessity for almost all decentralized applications.
Lucian Mincu, Chief Information Officer at MultiversX Foundation, highlighted the benefits of this collaboration, noting that more efficient and secure applications can now be developed using well-known programming languages, thanks to the node-as-a-service solution offered by Tencent Cloud. This solution eliminates the need for developers to deploy and maintain their own dedicated infrastructure.
Tencent Cloud’s involvement in the MultiversX ecosystem is timely as the blockchain network continues to demonstrate significant growth, with daily active users sometimes exceeding 100,000 and ranking highly among non-EVM chains in terms of total locked value. As a result of their continued support, Tencent Cloud was one of the key partners at the xDay Hackathon in October 2023, one of the largest in Europe that year. The event attracted more than 1,000 developers and showcased 150 blockchain products. Tencent Cloud contributed $120,000 in grants to the winners of the Gaming track, contributing to a total prize pool of more than $1 million.
Startups and projects building on MultiversX can use Tencent Cloud’s offering to accelerate their development. Opportunities include applying for grants, financing up to $100,000, access to preferential service pricing and significant networking opportunities, all available through a dedicated online portal.
